Portraits Andrew Graham Dixon and Giorgio Locatelli: my favourite comedy double-act, from Italy Unpacked. What I wanted to draw was the effect they have on each other – it wasn’t a portrait of either of them, but of their friendship Drawing white hair with grey pencil was fun, and I am pleased with the texture of his fleece. I think this actor is astonishingly good at ambiguous roles, neither quite goodie, nor quite baddie, occasionally both at once. Hard to capture though. A gift for someone very precious to us, who needed someone who understood what she was going through. A bit of a caricature? You might think that; I couldn’t possibly comment. probably one of the first portraits of a character I was happy with. Well, I enjoyed ‘The Hour,’ especially the costume and set design. Others prefer this sort of scenery! One done on the ferry on the way home from France. Started doodling in a boring meeting, turned in to this! For my Mum, who has fancied him all her life. First try in colour – not happy but it’s a start! Copyright © Bar Nash-Williams 2015 All rights reserved, no use may be made of any images on this site, without my express permission.
